Global Packaging Forum Gears Up Hyd for Historic ICCA Summit

What does it signal when global industry leaders in sustainable packaging choose an Indian city to host their flagship summit? It reflects growing international confidence in India’s manufacturing strength and Hyderabad’s expanding industrial footprint. In January 2027, the ICCA Global Summit will bring together policymakers, technology experts and business leaders in Hyderabad, with a clear focus on sustainability, automation, advanced technology and cross-border collaboration, positioning India’s fast-growing corrugated packaging sector firmly in global conversations.

For the first time in its 64-year history, the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA) has chosen India as the host country, marking a major milestone for Telangana and the country’s growing corrugated packaging industry. Founded in 1961 and headquartered in the United States, ICCA is the global apex body representing the corrugated packaging sector and promotes sustainable, recyclable and innovative packaging solutions worldwide. The summit will also coincide with India taking over as ICCA Chair, strengthening the country’s role in the global packaging sector.

The announcement was made on Monday at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) by ML Agarwal, Chairman of the ICCA Board of Directors; Ankit Agarwal, India Director on the ICCA Board and President-Elect of the Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers of India (FCBM); Eleni Despotou, President and CEO of ICCA; and Prasad Pendyala, Technical Chairman for the summit.

A curtain-raiser event will be held in Hyderabad on February 18, 2026, with Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu and IT Secretary Sanjay Kumar attending.

Alongside the global summit, Hyderabad will also host the FCBM CorruPack Summit 2027 and the CorruPack International Expo 2027. The three events together are expected to attract more than 250 exhibitors, over 1,500 delegates and around 300 international industry leaders, bringing strong global attention to the city.

Industry leaders note that India’s corrugated packaging market, currently valued at USD 7.8 billion, is projected to reach USD 18.6 billion by 2033, driven by strong demand from e-commerce, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, food processing and organised retail. With Hyderabad hosting the ICCA Global Summit 2027, Telangana further secures its place on the global industrial map.
