As Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption accelerates across sectors such as banking, healthcare, retail, manufacturing and government services, demand for high-performance computing infrastructure has risen sharply. Organisations are moving from limited pilot projects to full-scale AI rollouts, training larger models and processing vast volumes of real-time data. This shift has increased the need for advanced GPUs, next-generation processors, high-speed networking and energy-efficient, large-capacity data centres that can support continuous, large-scale workloads while managing power and cooling demands.
In response to this rising demand, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and AMD have expanded their strategic collaboration to co-develop a rack-scale AI infrastructure platform based on AMD’s “Helios” architecture, aimed at accelerating large-scale AI deployment in India.
TCS, through its subsidiary HyperVault AI Data Center Limited (HyperVault), will work with AMD to build an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-ready data center blueprint designed to support India’s national AI initiatives.
The platform will be powered by AMD Instinct MI455X Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), next-generation AMD EPYC “Venice” Central Processing Units (CPUs), AMD Pensando Vulcano Network Interface Cards (NICs) and the open Radeon Open Compute (ROCm) software ecosystem.
The companies said the “Helios” platform is purpose-built to deliver a rack-scale AI system that supports sovereign AI factories. Combined with TCS’ enterprise expertise and scale, the collaboration aims to accelerate AI deployment and improve operational efficiency for enterprises.
As part of the partnership, TCS and AMD will offer a data center design capable of supporting up to 200 MW of capacity. They will also work with hyperscalers and AI firms to fast-track data center development across India.
Dr. Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, said the rapid shift from AI pilots to large-scale deployments requires a new compute infrastructure blueprint. “With ‘Helios,’ we are delivering an open, rack-scale AI platform designed for performance, efficiency and long-term flexibility,” she said.
Meanwhile, MD and CEO of TCS, K. Krithivasan, noted that the collaboration marks the foundation for AMD’s first Helios-powered AI infrastructure in India. He added that the partnership strengthens TCS’ role in the AI ecosystem, spanning infrastructure to intelligence.
TCS established HyperVault in 2025 to develop secure, large-scale AI-ready infrastructure for hyperscalers, AI companies and global enterprises. The announcement builds on an earlier strategic collaboration between the two companies aimed at helping enterprises scale AI adoption and modernise hybrid environments.
