High-Flying Displays Marked Wings India’s Finale in Hyd, Attracting 1 Lakh+ Visitors

Hyderabad looked skyward like never before, closing January in a high-flying spectacle. From thundering jet engines to tricolour smoke trails cutting across the blue, Wings India 2026 transformed Begumpet Airport into a spectacle far beyond previous editions. Unlike earlier years that leaned heavily on static displays, this edition stood out for its high-energy flying performances, deeper public engagement and an immersive, festival-like atmosphere, drawing families, students and aviation enthusiasts in record numbers from day one.

Positioned as a global hub of collaboration, the event was inaugurated under the theme “Indian Aviation: Paving the Future” by Union Minister for Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The venue turned into a vibrant networking platform, with delegations from more than 20 countries engaging with CEOs from leading aviation majors including Airbus, Boeing and Embraer. Reflecting the industry’s breadth, the Exhibitor Profile featured participants ranging from major airlines and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) providers to emerging drone startups and flight training schools.

The Business Days on January 28 and 29 served as the event’s engine room, hosting 13 thematic sessions spanning Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), aircraft leasing, and a dedicated Women in Aviation plenary. Each evening, the spectacle shifted to the skies, with the IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and the UK’s Global Stars delivering precision-packed aerial displays, capped by a choreographed drone show tracing India’s aviation journey. The final two days, January 30 and 31, turned the focus to the future, as the Student Innovation Competition and a large-scale Aviation Job Fair connected young talent with industry leaders.

Across four packed days, the show emerged as a powerful showcase of India’s aviation ambitions. The final two days alone saw over 70,000 visitors, with crowds lining up early for flying displays and staying back for aircraft walkarounds and pilot interactions. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, flying nine indigenously built Hawk Mk-132 aircraft, delivered breathtaking formations, while globally renowned aerobatic pilot Mark Jefferies added an international edge to the aerial spectacle. Together, they turned the skies over Hyderabad into the most photographed aviation canvas the city has seen in years.

In total, the event hosted over 75,000 business visitors and more than one lakh general visitors, alongside 2,000 delegates, including 200+ international participants. With 30+ static and flying aircraft, 500+ structured B2B and B2G meetings, and continuous conference sessions, the exhibition strengthened its status as Asia’s most comprehensive civil aviation platform, seamlessly blending public fascination with industry purpose.
