Agri-Bio Growth Accelerates as Hyd Set for Koppert’s Expanded Mycorrhiza Facility

Agriculture biotechnology is gaining serious ground in India’s innovation landscape, and Hyderabad is at the center of this shift. Long known for its IT and pharma ecosystems, the city is now building a strong base in sustainable agri-tech and bio-based inputs that support healthier soils and better crop outcomes

Telangana’s push for climate-resilient farming and regenerative practices also aligns with a broader national move toward low-chemical agriculture. As farmers and agri-businesses look for solutions that enhance soil vitality, nutrient absorption and crop resilience, the demand for biological inputs continues to grow. Leveraging its established strengths in biotech research and manufacturing, Hyderabad is steadily positioning itself as a hub for green agri-tech and bio-manufacturing.

In line with these developments, Koppert Sustainable Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd., a global leader in biologicals and a joint venture between AgriLife India and Koppert BV of the Netherlands, is set to inaugurate its expanded Mycorrhiza Production Facility at IDA Bollaram, Hyderabad

The facility produces natural soil-benefiting fungi that support healthier plant growth, reduce dependency on chemical fertilisers and contribute to regenerative farming systems.

The expansion significantly boosts Koppert’s production capacity of mycorrhizal solutions, beneficial microorganisms that enhance nutrient uptake, improve soil structure and increase crop resilience. The growing adoption of such products reflects a larger transition in India’s agriculture ecosystem, where farmers are seeking eco-friendly alternatives without compromising yield or soil vitality.

“This expansion reflects Koppert’s long-term vision of supporting sustainable agriculture through science-based biological solutions,” noted Dr. Venkatesh Devanur, MD, AgriLife, highlighting that the upgraded facility follows high-quality production standards while backing the company’s focus on innovation, environmental stewardship and collaboration.

By increasing domestic manufacturing capabilities and strengthening access to regenerative inputs, Koppert aims to further contribute to India’s agricultural transformation. The initiative supports farmers in producing healthier crops, improving soil fertility and ultimately building a more sustainable and resilient agriculture future.
