L’Oréal to Launch Hyderabad Global Tech Hub, Creating 2,000 Advanced Tech Jobs

Hyderabad’s technology landscape continues to gain global attention as multinational companies expand, scale and set up Global Capability Centres (GCCs) across the city. With strengths in deep tech talent, AI engineering, digital operations, and enterprise functions, Hyderabad has rapidly transformed into one of the fastest-growing GCC destinations in the world. From pharma and healthcare to aerospace, semiconductors, BFSI and consumer tech, global players are increasingly looking at Hyderabad not as a satellite location but as a critical node in their long-term global strategy.

This momentum has been further supported by the Telangana Government, which has placed GCCs, AI-led innovation and digital capability building at the centre of its economic roadmap. Policies on talent development, frictionless business operations and sectoral innovation have created a strong runway for next-generation industries. Hyderabad is now positioning itself as a global hub for AI, digital engineering, data science and advanced R&D, attracting companies evaluating GCC expansions or setting up their first India-based tech operations.

At the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos on Wednesday, this trend saw a major boost as L’Oréal, the world leader in beauty, announced its first-ever Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad. The announcement followed a high-level meeting between D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Electronics & Industries, Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, and Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal, marking a milestone in the 2026 India-France Year of Innovation.

This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech hub will act as a flagship for AI-powered beauty innovation and services. With an investment of over Rs 3,500 Crores (€350 million) through 2030, the centre will unlock the potential of Data, AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI and other emerging digital capabilities. The hub is expected to create 2,000 high-skilled roles including AI specialists, tech engineers, and data scientists.

The partnership with Telangana also represents a strategic commitment to developing “from India, for the world” innovation capacity. The hub will play a key role in L’Oréal’s integrated global AI and Tech network alongside hubs in France, USA, China, Singapore, Spain, Poland, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.

Welcoming the partnership, Chief Minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy said the decision reflects the deep confidence global industry places in Telangana’s innovation ecosystem and highly skilled talent pool. He noted that the project aligns with the State’s “Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision”, creating 2,000 high-value jobs and positioning the State as a global epicentre for AI and digital excellence.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO, L’Oréal, said the hub strengthens L’Oréal’s commitment to India, adding that Hyderabad will now sit at the heart of its global AI and digital ambition.

IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, said the partnership exemplifies how global enterprises can co-create next-generation technology with local talent. Later on, Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, noted that the hub aligns with the newly formed Telangana AI Hub, accelerating AI adoption at scale across government, industry and society.

With this announcement, L’Oréal deepens its strategic role in India’s tech-led transformation and signals the next frontier of AI-driven beauty innovation emerging from Hyderabad.
