Telangana’s rise as a life sciences powerhouse is now drawing global attention. Minister for Industries and Information Technology, D Sridhar Babu, has been specially invited to deliver the keynote address at the prestigious AusBiotech International Conference 2025 — one of the most influential life sciences forums in the Asia–Pacific region.
Scheduled from October 21–24 in Melbourne, Minister Sridhar Babu will be the only Indian leader speaking at the global gathering, highlighting Telangana’s emergence as a hub for pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and MedTech innovation.
During his address, the Minister is expected to showcase Telangana’s remarkable growth in life sciences, its investor-friendly policies, and its readiness to host next-generation global investments. The state has attracted over Rs 63,000 crore in new investments in the past two years alone, establishing Hyderabad’s status among the world’s top seven life sciences clusters — the only Indian city to achieve this distinction.

The invitation was formally extended by Australia’s Consul General, Hilary McGeachy, during her visit to Hyderabad on Wednesday. She appreciated the Minister’s visionary leadership under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and emphasized opportunities for deeper Australia–Telangana collaboration in innovation, healthcare technologies, and sustainable industrial growth.
Commenting on the honour, Minister Sridhar Babu said, “Being invited to speak at AusBiotech 2025 is a proud moment for Telangana and India. Hyderabad is gaining global recognition as a hub for life sciences innovation, and we are committed to building stronger Australia–Telangana partnerships focused on cutting-edge technology, sustainable growth, and shared prosperity.”
