Hyderabad’s young changemakers have made a global touchdown — from local classrooms to the world’s biggest stage at the United Nations in Geneva. Their ideas on climate action, sustainability, and social change have earned them a spot among the world’s brightest young minds at the Change-Makers World Cup, organised by 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) in partnership with Flaunch.
Leading this extraordinary achievement is St. Peter’s High School, Bowenpally, which has produced 21 of the Top 100 finalists from across India — the largest contingent from any school in the country and the only one from South India to make it to the prestigious Global Summit in Geneva.
Currently representing India at the 9th 1M1B Impact Summit, being held on Friday, are Jemima Stanley, Bhuvana Kruthi Gandhi, and Amritha Murugan. While several other students were also selected, they were unable to travel due to reasons beyond their control, including visa issues and financial constraints. Showcasing their ideas on social impact, sustainability, and innovation, these young visionaries are carrying India’s spirit of change to the world stage.

“Standing at the UN does not feel like an end — it feels like the beginning of responsibility,” says Jemima, reflecting the spirit of thousands of young Indians.
Principal Dr. K. Suvarna appreciated the students’ achievement, calling them “socially responsible innovators who think globally and act locally,” while Correspondent T.A. Reddy highlighted that the students represent “India with courage and purpose.”
The 1M1B competition recognises young changemakers tackling global challenges in climate action, education, and social equity, using a gamified seven-mission format to test real-world problem-solving.
As part of IBM’s SkillsBuild platform, St. Peter’s High School continues to nurture students with future-ready skills — proving that from Hyderabad to Geneva, change truly begins when young minds believe they can make a difference.
