Telangana is going global in research and innovation, building a series of collaborations with leading institutions one after the other. During his official visit to Australia, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu met with senior leaders of Monash University, Melbourne, to explore partnerships emerging technologies, life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, and sustainable engineering.
On Friday, the talks centered on joint research programs, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative projects, and co-innovation initiatives, connecting Monash University with Telangana’s leading research and academic institutions. The Minister highlighted Telangana’s vibrant innovation ecosystem, featuring Bharat Future City, AI City, AI Innovation Hub, Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing, Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX), T-Hub, and T-Works.
“Telangana is building a world-class innovation playground where global partnerships and cutting-edge research come together. Our goal is to make the State a Global Innovation Hub, working with top institutions like Monash,” said Sridhar Babu.
Meanwhile, Professor Matthew Gillespie, Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs) at Monash University, welcomed the proposal and appreciated Telangana’s supportive ecosystem for technology and innovation. A roadmap for joint research and collaborative projects will be developed soon.
Also present were Professor Lei Hai Wu, Deputy Dean, Research, and Professor Christopher Thomson, Director, Education; they also attended the meeting. With these collaborations on the horizon, Telangana is set to shape the future of technology and research on a global scale.
