Hyderabad is fast becoming a hub for sustainable innovation, and the latest proof lies in TREES 2025 (Transportation Research Efforts for Ecological Sustainability) — a two-day conference hosted by VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNR VJIET) in partnership with CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI). The event aims to reshape the future of transport with a focus on ‘Green, Smart, and Resilient Mobility.’
On Friday, featuring over 170 research papers, the TREES 2025 conference showcased an impressive range of cutting-edge innovations — from AI-powered traffic prediction systems and drone-based bridge inspections to eco-pavement materials made from recycled waste, digital twins for urban transport, and blockchain-enabled logistics. The event brought together top researchers and innovators working to make India’s mobility systems smarter, greener, and more resilient.
During the Inauguration, Chief guest D.V.S. Raju, IRSEE, CEI, Govt. of India, HMRP, highlighted how technology and inter-institutional collaborations are making urban mobility cleaner, safer, and more efficient, citing Hyderabad Metro Rail’s sustainable progress as a model example.

Dr. Kayitha Ravinder, Chief Scientist & Head (ILT), CSIR-CRRI, emphasized that the partnership with VNR VJIET marks a significant step in India’s journey toward road sustainability. “We have executed numerous green road projects across India and remain committed to driving impactful solutions nationwide,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. A. Ramesh, Professor and Organising Secretary, Civil Engineering Department, VNR VJIET, called TREES 2025 “a catalyst for transformative ideas in green and intelligent transportation.” He noted that the conference bridges academia, industry, and government to build smarter, resilient, and sustainable mobility systems.
With tech showcases, poster sessions, cultural programs, and the prestigious Green Mobility Awards, TREES 2025 is more than a knowledge-sharing platform — it’s a powerful step toward a cleaner, tech-driven transport future for India.
