In a proud moment for Silver Jubilee Government College (Constituent College of Cluster University, Kurnool), the annual alumni meet 2025 became a celebration of giving back and empowering bright students. The highlight of the event was the announcement of a Rs 5 lakh scholarship to support five meritorious students with Rs 1 lakh each, helping them pursue higher education and academic excellence.
The initiative was led by Janardhan Kompally, Chairman and Founder of Makuta Developers, a leading Hyderabad-based real estate firm. A proud alumnus of the college, Kompally said the contribution was his way of giving back to the institution that laid his foundation. He emphasized that education has the power to transform lives and urged students to stay focused, determined, and value-driven in their pursuits.
The college management and alumni members expressed gratitude for his generous gesture, noting that such support motivates students to dream big and strengthens the institution’s legacy of learning and leadership.
The event on Wednesday was attended by S. Sathyanarayana, Secretary of the BC Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. V. Venkata Basava Rao, Vice President, Rayalaseema Honors and Cluster University (I/C). Both appreciated the college’s enduring legacy and the spirit of its alumni network in inspiring students to aim higher.
