What happens when startups stop chasing trends and start solving real problems? The ideas become more meaningful. Many innovations today are not born in big boardrooms, but in classrooms, small labs, and everyday struggles. A student notices a challenge. A doctor feels burdened with paperwork. A finance team deals with constant data errors. These simple problems are turning into powerful solutions. From assistive devices to AI tools for healthcare and business teams, startups are proving that true innovation is not about hype, it’s about making life simpler, smarter and better.
That’s exactly how this story began. A high school student noticed how difficult it was for visually impaired individuals to move safely and independently. Instead of keeping it as just a school project, the student decided to build an advanced and affordable smart cane that could truly make a difference. That simple thought sparked something bigger.
At BioAsia 2026, the idea has now taken shape as the Smart AI Cane, developed and showcased by Quadric IT. The company’s engineering team transformed the student’s vision into a working AI-powered assistive device. Using sensors and computer vision, the cane detects obstacles and provides real-time audio and vibration alerts, helping users navigate with greater safety and confidence.

This Smart AI Cane reflects a larger journey. Quadric IT first stepped into BioAsia in 2025 with Renote AI, an intelligent note-taking platform built to turn scattered handwritten and digital notes into structured, usable knowledge for research and enterprise teams. It focused on reducing manual work and improving documentation quality.
This year, the vision has grown even bigger. The company is now building a Medical Large Language Model (Medical LLM) designed specifically for healthcare and pharmaceutical teams. Unlike general AI tools, this model understands medical terminology, clinical documents, and regulatory language, helping professionals summarize information faster and reduce repetitive documentation work.
For enterprise operations, Clofast addresses reconciliation and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data mismatches, helping finance teams detect discrepancies and prevent revenue leakage with speed and clarity.
Renote AI has also evolved into the Smart Sync Pen, an AI-enabled pen that captures handwritten notes from labs and factory floors and syncs them directly into enterprise systems in real time, reducing delays caused by manual data entry.
From a student’s simple observation to a growing portfolio of practical AI solutions, Quadric IT’s journey shows how meaningful innovation often begins with noticing a problem and deciding to solve it.
